Quality Control Technician _ 3rd Shift

Summary

The Quality Control Technician performs product and material inspection and testing to ensure compliance with specifications. This role also utilizes knowledge of quality control, production operations, and documentation to participate in process improvements and investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Inspects and tests materials and products using equipment (e.g., CMM)
  • Records and analyzes test data, including graphing and statistical analysis.
  • Reviews production, inspection, and quality records.
  • Conducts in-process visual inspections and retrieves parts for lab testing.
  • Scans finished product and assists with test equipment inspections.
  • Conducts GMP and internal (e.g. ISO 9000 & FSSC 22000) facility audits to assess compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area in accordance with the 6S principles.
  • Conducts mechanical product testing and root cause analysis.
  • Clearly communicates quality criteria to production staff and supervisors.
  • Documents and distributes Quality Assurance shift reports.
  • Supports R&D in developing new products.
  • Prepares test reports and draws appropriate conclusions.
  • Oversees NCF material program and recommends appropriate disposition.
  • Initiates and documents corrective actions.
  • Performs other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

  • Able to read and understand customer drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of quality control and production documentation.
  • Working knowledge of quality control devices including scales, pi-tape, calipers, and gauges.
  • Working knowledge of GMP and basic sanitation procedures (FS facilities only).

 

Education

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. (required)

 

 Experience

  • Required years of experience may vary based on qualifications, skills, and level within the role.

 

OTHER

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift and handle a minimum of 20 pounds repeatedly and up to 45 pounds occasionally.
  • All work is performed in a manufacturing environment which may be hot/cold and requires the use of PPE at all times (eyeglasses and hearing protection, where required, etc.)
