Shipping Forklift Operator _ A Shift (12 hours)

Summary

Must be able to drive a electric or propane forklift to load trucks in a timely manner. Scan any movements of pallets using a hand held RF scanner. Be able to follow written or verbal instructions on loading and unloading trucks.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
  • Examines the pick ticket to understand what products and quantities are needed for that shipment.
  • Goes to locations given by the scan gun or pick ticket
  • Pulls and scans the items from location to staging areas
  • Wrap or band any pallets needed for the order when necessary
  • After the order has been verified then scan items to the trailer as loading
  • When loading is completed then turn in the ticket and fill out Dock Audit log sheet
  • Assist the supervisor to assure shipping needs are met
  • Responsible for keeping the work area clean and organized
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be forklift certified
  • Able to use banding equipment
  • Able to use a hand held RF scanner
  • Able to shrink wrap manually or using shrink wrap machine
  • Must be able to lift and handle a minimum of 45-50 pounds occasionally
  • Good hand and eye coordination a must
  • All work is performed in a manufacturing environment which may be hot/cold and requires the use of PPE at all times (eye glasses, ear plugs where required, etc..)
