Detergent Cleaning

Problem

For nearly a decade, Ultra Soap International relied on a labor-intensive labeling process for their 5-gallon pails — hand-applying two pressure-sensitive labels to every container. This method was time-consuming, costly, and waste-generating, leading to inefficiencies on the production line.

The process required additional labor and created inconsistencies in label placement, while the need for metallic finishes and detailed branding increased complexity. With growing production volumes and sustainability goals, Ultra Soap needed a smarter, more scalable packaging solution that preserved their brand identity and reduced material waste.

Solution

To overcome these challenges, M&M Industries partnered with MCC Global IML to develop a fully integrated In-Mold Labeling (IML) solution for Ultra Soap’s signature 5-gallon bucket.

This new approach eliminated manual labeling altogether by fusing the decorative label directly into the container during molding.

The Solution:

  • A seamless, durable, high-quality finish capable of replicating Ultra Soap’s iconic metallic foil and bold color palette.
  • Expanded billboard space on the bucket surface, allowing for on-container assembly instructions and improved brand visibility.
  • A highly efficient production process that reduces handling time, material use, and overall cost.

M&M’s engineering expertise and MCC Global IML’s label innovation ensured a smooth transition from traditional labeling to IML, with all requirements for quality, scalability, and aesthetics exceeded.

The collaboration between Ultra Soap International, M&M Industries, and MCC Global IML resulted in measurable commercial and operational success:

  • Eliminated manual labeling labor costs, improving throughput and productivity.
  • Reduced material waste, supporting Ultra Soap’s sustainability goals.
  • Maintained full brand integrity, with enhanced visual quality and consistency.
  • Recognized by the In-Mold Decorating Association (IMDA) with the Best Use of In-Mold Labeling (IML) – Large Container Award.

By integrating the labeling directly into the molding process, Ultra Soap achieved a future-ready, cost-efficient solution that elevates both production efficiency and product presentation.
