CNC Mill & EDM Programmer/Operator

A company specializing in the production of molds servicing the plastic industry is seeking to add a skilled/quality driven individual to our team of dedicated and skilled toolmakers. Under moderate supervision, you will consistently produce accurate, high-quality components while maintaining high standards.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

Must be proficient in the programming and operation of CNC Vertical Milling Machines and sinker EDM; ability to fixture and design methods of manufacturing complex parts; hold tight tolerances, work with both ferrous and nonferrous materials; Verification of work piece dimensions, parts inspection, ability to use standard shop measuring equipment and gauge blocks; ability to read and interpret blueprints; ability to operate multiple machines and multitask.

· Ensure tool room is maintained in a safe, clean and orderly manner on daily basis

o Follow safety rules and regulations and enforce same as well as good shop practices

o Ensure area is organized and kept clean

· Ensure parts are maintained to the highest quality standards possible.

· Program, set up and operate conventional and CNC machines to fabricate tooling

components for the manufacturing and repair of injection molds; and fit and assembles these components into production tooling and fixtures

· Ability to weld for repairs preferred

· Repair damaged molds and supporting tooling

· Perform preventive maintenance on all molds and tooling

· Design and build electrodes. Program, setup and operate CNC EDM

· Design and build jigs and fixtures as needed, incorporating ergonomic overview.

· Perform in-press mold troubleshooting

· Resolve mold performance or safety issues

· Perform correct mold changeovers

· Manufacture or modify new molds to meet production demand for existing and new products

· When required, produce parts, at times with few or no prints or 3D models as a repair function

· Support research and development efforts to design and manufacture new products

· Manufacture and improve prototype parts from engineering prints

· Provide mold and tool expertise to design reviews and product development

Must be able to complete Routsis Training (online interactive training)

Certified Mold Maker with CNC experience preferred

Plastics and injection molding experience required with at least 5 years’ experience

Environment, Health & Safety experience preferred
4
ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System experience preferred
5
Candidates with SolidCAM programming experience preferred
6
Candidates with SolidWorks design experience preferred
