Inventory Control Manager

The Inventory Control Manager analyzes and maintains records of materials in inventory and supplies on order and directly oversees a team of Receiving and Inventory clerks. This role is a Subject Matter expert for inventory control and provides guidance across departments. The Inventory Control Manager monitors inventory and initiate action to replenish and organize inventory. They reconcile discrepancies in inventories and supplies, and notify others including the Plant Managers, Logistics Managers, Department Managers and Purchasing team, as necessary, of irregularities.

Performs and oversees physical inventory counts, working with accounting to reconcile inventory variances.

Utilizing ABC Counting Methods, performs cycle counting, and reviews variances in counts and / or locations. Collaborates with other departments to address root cause of variances.

Assists with reviewing Bill of Materials (BOM’s) for errors driving variances.

Hires, trains, and coaches Receiving and Inventory Clerks.

Provides cross training to teams across the organization.

Oversees the processing of Inbound Railcars and Resin material – ensuring proper procedure and inventory check are conducted.

Ensures weekly and monthly Resin checks are completed and variances are reported.

Monitors proper execution of inventory movements in and throughout the warehouse, both systematically and physically.

Engages and coaches all departments on proper accountability and transaction of inventory items.

Performs as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Inventory Control Measures.

Ensures all incomplete, lost, or improper goods movement are addressed and corrective or countermeasures are discussed and implemented, as necessary.

Creates detailed reports for adjustments, inventory and production operations, and warehouse cycle counting program.

Facilitates the proper processing of Inbound material and shipments and compile proper documentation for Putaway or distribution.

Creates and administer training programs for all employees that interface with inventory management system to reduce errors.

Facilitates prevention and / or reduction of Slow and Obsolete Inventory by working with other departments to properly disposition items.

Defines, measure, and implement Key Performance Indicators (i.e. Days on Hand, Inventory Turns, Slow and Obsolete percentage of inventory etc.).

Designs and implements inventory tracking and reporting system for optimized inventory control and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
