Production Planner

The Production Planner coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules in a manner that promotes safe and efficient work practices. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; inventory levels and solving production problems.

Key Responsibilities:

•Follows M&M safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
•Supports manufacturing team to ensure daily production requirements are achieved; therefore, meeting customer expectations. Heavily impacts Ontime / In-full (OTIF) KPI and as such performance reviews will include this KPI.
•As orders received, responsible for providing expected completion dates with goal of meeting customer requested dates.
•Analyzes and prepares documents needed for production.
•Monitors material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.
•Creates production schedule and prioritizes job-orders for production optimization.
•Maintains the production schedule and other reports as required.
•Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation.
•Complete status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory
•Interacts with shop floor management daily to resolve issues regarding manufacturing. efficiency or additional information as requested from Manufacturing, Customer Service and Accounting.
•Ensures work orders are released in ShotScope in a manner that provides ample visibility for all planning and purchasing requirements.
•Ensures special notes on Work Orders as applicable to minimize any misses to customer needs.
•Assists with reviewing accuracy of Bill of Materials (BOM’s).
•Responsible for keeping the work area clean and organized.
•May be asked to perform other duties at a lower level or higher level of proficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)
•Strong oral and written communication skills, both internally and external to the organization.
•Strong math and analytical skills.
•Ability to work through a Production Tracking Program (Shotscope/RJG type platform).
•Detail orientated and organized.
•Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Physical Job Requirements
All work is performed in a manufacturing environment which may be hot/cold and requires the use of PPE at all times (eyeglasses, etc. where required) Duties may require some lifting, extended standing and walking.

High School diploma or GED required

College Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required.
4
One (1) year experience in MRP systems preferred.
